In today’s era, technology is developing at an astonishing pace, and artificial intelligence (AI)

has become part of our daily lives. From chatbots to self-driving cars, AI is everywhere. As a

high school student, I deeply feel the changes and challenges brought by technology. In this

context, many families are concerned about how parents can educate and inspire their children’s

creativity. Here are my thoughts on this issue:

1. Encourage Children to Explore Different Interests and SkillsParents should help their children find their passions. While AI development has brought us

many conveniences, it has also automated certain repetitive jobs. Therefore, creativity and

innovation have become even more important. Parents can encourage children to participate in

various extracurricular activities such as art, music, programming, robotics, etc. These not only

broaden their horizons but also expose them to different fields. These experiences can help

children discover their interests and learn to solve problems in different ways.

2. Create a Family Environment that Supports Innovation

This means giving children time and space to experiment, even if the results are not perfect.

Encourage children to ask questions, challenge conventional thinking, and provide appropriate

resources like books, tools, and learning opportunities. When children come up with new ideas,

parents should listen actively, offer positive feedback and suggestions rather than immediately

pointing out flaws or discouraging them. This supportive environment can stimulate children’s

creativity and encourage them to try new things.

3. Introduce Children to Basic Concepts and Applications of AI

AI is not just a complex technology; many applications can be understood in simple ways. For

example, using AI to create drawings or generate music are fun tools that can allow children to

experience AI’s creative capabilities firsthand. These experiences not only increase their

awareness of AI but also inspire them to think about the limitless possibilities of AI in creative

fields. At the same time, parents can teach children how to find their place in the world of

technology by learning skills like programming or data analysis, which will be indispensable in

the future.

4. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills

Parents should encourage their children to think independently and not blindly rely on

technology. Even though AI can provide quick answers, human judgment and creativity are still

needed to tackle complex challenges. Parents can help children develop multi-perspectivethinking and cultivate their problem-solving abilities by discussing current events, societal

issues, technology, or ethics with them.

5. Learn and Grow Together with Your Children

Parents also need to maintain an open mindset and continuously learn new knowledge. Exploring

the world of technology together with their children and sharing learning experiences not only

strengthens the parent-child relationship but also subtly stimulates children’s enthusiasm for

learning and creativity.

In the age of AI, the role of parents is not only to impart knowledge but also to become guides

and supporters for their children. By offering diverse learning opportunities, creating a

supportive environment, encouraging critical thinking, and learning alongside their children,

parents can effectively inspire their children’s creativity and help them find their place and thrive

in this rapidly advancing technological world.
